For my literacy narrative I have come up with 3 possible topics that I might write about.
The first one I have been thinking about is how my teacher for a creative writing class in highschool inspired me to become a better writer. She had always negatively critiqued my work and it always bothered me. I feel I could write an effective paper on this topic because I still remember some of the things she would say that inspired me to write better and rub it in her face that I could write better. However I feel this topic may become a bit boring.
The second topic I may write about is the influence that story time in 6th grade left on myself, specifically when our teacher read the first Harry Potter book to us. It inspired me to follow the whole Harry Potter series, read each book, and watch each movie. I feel I could write an effective paper on this topic because the memory of that time will last forever in my mind. I dont see a con in writing about this topic right now and hopefully a con does not appear because I really want to write about this topic. :)
The third topic I may write about is how reading magazines and newspapers can help a person become a better reader as well as a better writer. In my highschool freshman english we had to keep a journal that we wrote in once a week about a newspaper or magazine article. I feel this topic would inspire other readers to read more often because at first I very much disliked reading but once it was forced on me I began to enjoy some of the articles I would read in the magazines or newspapers. The only con I see is that this topic may become a bit boring to write about.
